We've had a lovely last week of term. We've all enjoyed our Week of Fun full of nursery celebrations from creating obstacle courses and playing with the ride-ons to having dance parties and a special party snack. It's been a great week!
On behalf of all the ladies, it has been a pleasure having you all in nursery. For those going off to Primary 1, good luck and all the best - we can't wait to hear all about how well you're all getting on. For those staying in nursery, we can't wait to see you all after the summer holidays!
Finally, we would all like to thank everyone for the lovely cards and presents - very generous and not expected at all.
Enjoy the photos everyone, and have a lovely summer!
19th June - 23rd June
Well that's another week flown by! We cant believe that there is just 1 more week to go before our Nursery N5's leave us to begin there primary school education. Thank goodness we have some very responsible N4's to keep our new additions right when we begin again in August.
We have been lucky with the weather this week and managed to stay outdoors for our play and learning. Our N5's had a fabulous time in their new primary 1 class with Mrs Sunde on Monday. We hear that Mrs Sunde was very impressed with the children going up, they listened well and had a lovely play. A big thumbs up to that! We all took a tour around the outside of the school showing the approach from all directions so they will be familiar with their arrival on their first day.
Lots of fun was had this week as we are continuing our theme on the under water world. The children have made a beautiful mural for our nursery windows of an underwater world. Lots of sea weed was created and then some fabulous under water creatures have been drawn, cut out and pasted on. You may have noticed our display on the gate!
We have been reading Ziggy and Maggie start school, reminding ourselves of road safety and continuing getting excited for our N5's heading to Primary 1!
We are so excited for our last week of term next week as we have decided to have... a week of fun! The children have been coming up with ideas of things to do to make our last week as fun as possible. We'll have an obstacle course, a movie afternoon and plenty other fun bits going on!
Friday was Nathan's last day of Nursery before the holidays. Not only did he get his leavers certificate presented by Mr Laurie, he also won the School Art Competition and received his drawing framed. What a great way to end your time here at nursery, we can't wait to see you as a Primary 1 in August!
Have a lovely weekend everyone and enjoy the photos!
Hi all,
We would like to start by welcoming Mrs Piper who has joined us in a support assistant role. The children have enjoyed getting to know Mrs Piper and have joined her for stories and games during the week. Our week began with The Big Picnic , the children enjoyed their picnic with their teddies on a blanket nursery pen in the school grounds. We had just about finished our yummy lunch when the heavens opened and when were rained off ! In true scottish style, 5 minutes later we were able to continue our play back in the nursery garden.
The fabulous weather continues and we have been enjoying learning about our new topic.... under the sea! We are discovering facts about lots of different sea creatures, particular favourites at the moment are sharks, whales and octopus.
The great weather has meant we could have our water tray out and not be too concerned about getting a few accidental splashes. We have lots of different shells in our tray along with some under the sea creatures.
We have been making lots of dens, played Whats the time Mr Wolf, some of the children worked together to make up the Hop Scotch mat and enjoyed playing and balancing on it.
There has been some very clever art work this week with octopus and birds made from wood and lots of beautiful drawings and mark making.
Lastly the children had a very special treat on Thursday afternoon when Mrs Taylor bought in Ice lollies to enjoy after snack time, what a lovely treat that was on such a hot day, thank you so much Mrs Taylor.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone and see you on Monday!
Hello everyone,
Another great weather week in our Nursery garden, we hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and the beautiful blue sky's we enjoyed with it. On Tuesday Amy's Mum came to Nursery in her........police van! The children were so excited to learn about the job that the police do in keeping us all safe. We tried on the police uniform, we even got to sit in the back of the van, sit in the front and work the siren and lights.... Wow! Thank you Alison for coming in and explaining all about working in the Police.
On Wednesday it was a Stay and Play day where some of the parents and carers were able to come in and see what fun we have in our Nursery garden. We showed them our mini beast art work and mini beast playdough and water play area.
Thursday was the day our Buddies came to play and we also learnt about symmetry. We are making symmetrical butterflies and there have been some beautiful displays made of these.
Today we are all very sad to say farewell to Max, he has been such a joyful, active and bright spark in our Nursery group and will be missed so much. We had a yummy party snack to celebrate Max's last day with us and we wish him, his big brother Daniel and Mummy and Daddy every happiness in their new life with their wider family and friends in Poland.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and will see you on Monday
Hi everyone, what a fabulous week we have had and beautiful weather as well!
We have been searching our nursery garden for mini beasts of all shapes and sizes and learning all about them. We filled out mini beast surveys so we could find out what types of mini beasts there are in our garden, so far we have found lots of slugs, wood louse, millipede and snails.
We had a very special visitor in on Monday afternoon, Morven's Mummy Eilidh came in to talk to us all about her exciting job as a Physiotherapist. She even brought in some crutches and a stethoscope for the children to learn about and try. Thank you Eilidh!
On Tuesday Lynn invited us to the poly tunnel to show us her bees, we saw the queen bee and all of her helpers, it was amazing!
Sports day on Wednesday was so much fun, the children were so excited to join in all of the activities and made us so proud! On Thursday the buddies joined us in the garden to play and our nearly P1s are really enjoying showing the big kids some nursery fun.
We have been busy doing lots of mini beast art and you may have seen our collage on the Nursery gate. We will continue adding to the scene and it will grace our nursery house corner windows in the coming weeks.
We've been very lucky to have some more excellent helpers in with us. Rodger and Mrs Bootle came in to help and the children loved showing them round the garden and especially reading stories together!
have a wonderful long weekend everyone and we look forward to seeing you all again on Tuesday morning!
