On this page you can read and see all the incredible things that we do in P6/7!
Class Blog Replaced by Class Story
For Term 4, we will no longer be using this blog, but will be updating you with what we've been up to using Class Story on the ClassDojo app. If you haven't yet signed up to follow your child's class, please do so soon so you can keep up to date with what's happening in P6/7. As Class Story is much quicker and easier to use than this blog, hopefully you should receive more regular updates.
Snowsports Day 3

Snowsports 2024 - Day 2
P6/7 enjoyed another excellent day of skiing and snowboarding on Cairngorm yesterday. Here are some photos of their day:
Paddywhack's Adventures 7.3.24
While P6/7 were skiing and snowboarding today, our mascot bear Paddywhack, was enjoying some adventures in Aviemore...
While waiting for surgery, Paddywhack enjoyed some time in the garden, and made a new friend.
Then it was time for the operation to fix a nasty neck wound.
Surgery was very successful.
Soon, Paddywack was recovering well.
By the evening he was well enough for some gaming!
Schools Quiz Winners!
Huge congratulations to our P7 quiz team who won the Rotary Club schools quiz in Aviemore on Tuesday!
Our Time on the Ski Trip
by Milo
1st March 2024
Yesterday was our first day of skiing and snowboarding on Cairngorm. First, we got on the bus at around 8:15. After we picked up all the other schools we started our hour drive to Cairngorm mountain. When we arrived we got all the snowsports equipment and headed out with our group. We all started with getting used to our equipment and then moved on to harder manoeuvres. Rowan got stretchered off the mountain from a bad injury. After that we had lunch. Then we learnt a bit about mountain rescue. Suddenly, the long, exciting, tiring day of snowsports was over. Mr. Cain had to go to the hospital with Rowan, but she is ok now. Overall it was a great day.
Vinnie's Visit by Eve
On Wednesday we had a special visitor. Their name? VINNIE the greyhound! His coat was brindle and he had markings like the stripes of a tiger. We as a class learned about greyhounds and got to give Vinnie a biscuit if we wanted to.
Vinnie is Megan's dog and she loves him A LOT. Then after that we were told some facts about greyhounds and GAGAH (Give a Greyhound a Home), which is a charity supporting adopting a retired racing greyhound. The whole experience was exciting and interesting. Vinnie came to visit because our class novel this term was Born to Run by Michael Morpurgo, which is about a greyhound just like Vinnie.
Term 3 Week 5 by Else
This Monday we had P.E. with Mr Cain, where we learnt about all the different muscles in the human body. On Tuesday morning we did P.E. again with a new teacher, Ms Vyjidakova, and did some growth mindset work. In the afternoon we had Mrs Law, and we did a very energetic French head, shoulders, knees and toes, as well as Ben Day dots by painting and printing bubble wrap on enormous pieces of paper. On Thursday we learnt all about the respiratory system and made 3D paper lungs.
Term 3 Week 4 by Mara
This week has been very interesting. On Monday we had PE with Mrs Nicol, and on Tuesday we did pop art with Mrs Law in the afternoon. On Wednesday we had a power cut, so everyone had to go home early.
Yesterday, on Thursday, we made poo because we were learning about the digestive system. We mashed up some digestive biscuits and a banana in a ziplock bag, and added in saliva (water) and eventually stomach acids (orange juice) before putting it into the intestines (old tights), squeezing out all the moisture, and finally ‘pooped’ by cutting open the tights. It was really fun but some people found it a bit disgusting!
BLOG POST - TERM 3 WEEK 3 By Eve
On Tuesday we had a guy come in called Andy or also known as Jammin’ Andy and we learnt about THE PATHWAY TO PARIS which was about the Olympics and we danced to different music. We danced accordingly to different sports like skiing, breakdancing and many more.
And on Wednesday we walked to Young at Heart and read out some poems by Robbie Burns including Up in the Morning Early and Address to a Haggis. Then we sang Auld Lang Syne and after this we ate shortbread and walked back to school.
Photos of the Young at Heart event can be viewed at Catriona Parmenter's website:

Blog - Term 3 Week 1 by Eathan
This week in primary 6,7 we all made our own self portraits with charcoal sticks. They are self portraits with a difference as you will see! We also made some very cute paper pandas in Mandarin.
We were not at school on Wednesday because of all the snow on the roads.
We did Swedish dodgeball with Mr Cain on Wednesday because Mrs Nicol was sick.
