End of Term 2

Wow, what a busy final few weeks! I would like to say how proud I am of all the pupils for their amazing efforts in the Christmas show. The acting, singing, set designs and props were all fantastic, and everyone saved their best performance for the evening show on Tuesday. It really was a brilliant show, so well done all of you!!
On Wednesday we had our Christmas parties, and the pupils all really enjoyed themselves. We would like to say a huge thank you to the parent council for providing the food and drinks.
Finally, I am as always very grateful for the lovely Christmas cards and gifts, so thank you so much for those. Please have a wonderful Christmas and a relaxing holiday, and we'll see you back on Monday 8th January.
I'll leave you with a few photos from the show dress rehearsal and the Christmas party.
Have a very, merry Christmas!

This week a lady from the UK parliament came to our school and taught us about the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and we learned a lot.
We have been working really hard on the Christmas show props and songs. We have also been doing script practice.
We have just moved on to a new maths topic, which is money. We are also working on revising our times tables, and written methods of multiplication and division.

This week the class have been very busy and with lots to do we have produced a lot of work. We have created art on Tuesday then next Tuesday we will be finalising the art with Mrs Law.
Thursday was a day to remember because we had a panto come to our school! It was a very exciting day. The panto was a hilarious version of Sleeping Beauty; some of the characters were
Mary hill
Prince
Maleficent
Princess Bonny
The king
It was a three person performance and the characters were all played by women. After watching the performance p6/7 have seen how to play an evil character, a good character and most of all we have seen how to make our acting look realistic by going over the top. The panto got lots of laughter and it made the week a whole lot more funny.
Term 2 Week 2

This week has been very exciting! On Tuesday it was Halloween, so lots of people dressed up to celebrate. We had a small class party, where we did lots of fun things! Firstly, we did pumpkin bowling, where we rolled pumpkins along the floor to knock over the toilet paper ghosts. Then we bit party rings (can I say that or is it trademarked?) off a string which was fun too. Next we all did apple dookin, and then another, quite similar, activity where we basically stuck our faces in trays of icing sugar to try and find a sweet.
On Wednesday we did the auditions for this year’s Christmas show, which will be called Cinderella and Rockerfella. We are looking forward to it! After the auditions we cast the parts. On Thursday we also listened to the songs for the first time.
The rest of the time we did schoolwork (as usual) and PE with Mrs. Nicol, where we are working on Throwing and Catching.

The week has been great fun. We have made our table banners and table names. We have also changed who has what class job. Three reading groups have got new books and we have been looking at who wants to be who in the Christmas show, Cinderella, which is going to be a pantomime!
