Monday 22nd - Friday 26th
Hello everyone, we've had a fantastic week in the nursery! The children have continued to enjoy exploring different jobs people do. The role play corner changed from the very popular hairdressers to a construction site. Health and Safety regulations were followed well with the use of hard hats and ear defenders, and the construction vehicles were treated to some very inventive garages!
Outdoors this week the children have been making dens by the 'ice cream' tree, enjoying stories being read by our amazing parent helpers, flying aeroplanes and planting some beautiful flowers for the gate. We also had the treat of Mateo's Mummy Tracey coming in and talking to us about her job as a Personal Trainer. She even created an exercise plan for us to follow, which the children pointed out made their hearts beat fast!
We hope you enjoy the photos, and have a lovely weekend.
Monday 15th - Friday 19th
Hello everyone,
We started off the week with Explorers, and continuing on with our topic of jobs people do. The children decided to take turns telling us a job they could think of and we acted it out on our walk. There were some very inventive jobs including a pilot and a bird watcher!
As the Hairdressers was such a hit last week, we continued taking bookings. There were a few styling sessions, and some colour consults using the Colour Chart. Also, the home corner window was transformed into a shop window. The children were selling lots of yummy cakes through it, and even Mrs Wells queued to buy some!
The nursery also had a lovely treat this week with some help from Nathan's Mummy, Ms Elce! She has been a great help and the children have enjoyed reading stories with her, drawing and showing her around the garden.
We hope you enjoy the pictures and have a lovely weekend!
Tuesday 8th May - Friday 12th May
Hello all
Another short but busy week in Nursery! Recently, the children have been talking about what they we would like to be when they grow up so this week we have started to look at jobs people do.
Some of the children wanted to turn the mud kitchen into a cafe, so we have been busy making a sign and using snack time to think about the different roles - we have had very helpful chefs, cooks, waiting staff and cleaners!
We have also been thinking about the different jobs that we would each like to do when we grow up using our clapping rhyme - we have astraunots, firefighters, teachers, zookeepers, ballerinas and hairdressers in the making! We now also have a hairdressing salon in the nursery, so lots of lovely styling and colour matching (with the scissors safely away in the cupboard!)
As always, we have had lots of fun in the garden, and enjoyed having snack under our new gazebo. For PE this week, we enjoyed having a practice for Sports Day which will be in just a few weeks time.
Have a lovely weekend all and enjoy the photos!
Hello everyone!
We've had a very busy week, albeit it shorter than usual! The letter of the week was "S" and many of the children enjoyed writing the letter with a paper or whiteboard guide, and exploring the nursery garden with Mrs Taylor to find things that begin with the letter "S". The children found and came up with some excellent words, the ladies were very impressed!
We've enjoyed continuing with bike-a-lings, learning about helmet safety and some of the children helped Mrs Wells make some excellent looking play-dough, sprucing up the colour from our previous blue/green to pink!
In lieu of the King's Coronation this weekend, many of the children enjoyed creating their own crowns out of paper plates. The process involved lots of painting, cutting and gluing and all of the crowns look fit for a King, well done everyone.
There was also a very special birthday this week, Xander turned 4! So we celebrated by singing "happy birthday" to him at circle time!
We hope you enjoy the photos, and have a lovely long weekend!
